Maritime authorities in the United Kingdom and Poland have introduced a radio license tax, following a similar approach to the Netherlands. This tax is aimed at supporting the ongoing maintenance and operation of maritime communication services.

As a result, all active radio licenses associated with an MMSI number will now be subject to an annual fee, effective immediately.

This fee applies to vessels equipped with VHF/DSC radios, AIS transponders, or any other communication equipment requiring an MMSI number. It is essential for vessel operators to ensure timely payment to maintain compliance with national regulations and avoid potential penalties.
