If you are calling at Limassol Marina for the first time, this guide covers everything you need to know before you arrive: approach procedures, navigational aids, arrival formalities, mooring, shore power, and how to make your port call as smooth as possible.

About Limassol Marina

Limassol Marina is a world-class facility located on the southern coast of Cyprus, adjacent to the historic old town of Limassol. It accommodates yachts and superyachts up to 115 metres in length, with over 650 berths for residents and visitors. The marina is operated to the highest standards and offers a full range of marine services, retail, dining and residential facilities within its waterfront complex.

Marina Coordinates: 34°40.0’N — 33°02.4’E

Cyprus is strategically positioned at the crossroads of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa — making Limassol Marina a natural waypoint for yachts transiting the Eastern Mediterranean.

Before You Arrive

Appoint a Local Agent The single most important step before calling at Limassol Marina is to appoint a local yacht agent and notify them of your arrival as early as possible. A good agent will pre-clear your berth, coordinate with the marina and port authorities, and ensure customs and immigration formalities are arranged ahead of your arrival. Last-minute arrivals without an agent can cause significant delays — particularly outside office hours.

Submit Your Crew List in Advance Limassol Marina is a Port of Entry. Complete an IMO Crew List (IMO FAL Form 5) including all crew and passengers and forward it to Marina Reception prior to your arrival. Once received, it will be passed to all relevant authorities to minimise the duration of your check-in procedure on arrival.

Berth Reservation During peak season (May through October) berths fill quickly, especially for larger yachts. Always confirm your berth in advance. Your agent can handle this directly with the marina on your behalf.

Navigational Aids

Limassol Marina has installed three navigational aids in the waters outside the Marina to assist with safe approach and exit:

RED & WHITE Safe Water Mark — LFL 10 sec at: 34° 39′.558 N — 033° 03′.003 E

GREEN Lateral Mark — Fl (2+1) 10 sec at: 34° 39′.754 N — 033° 02′.733 E

RED Lateral Mark — Fl (2+1) 10 sec at: 34° 39′.655 N — 033° 02′.676 E

Located on the breakwater walls on each side of the Marina entrance are a Lighthouse, Green Starboard Mark and a Red Port Mark. Marina speed and navigation rules apply from this point onwards.

Approach Procedures

Approaching from the East Leave the Safe Water Mark to PORT and the Green Lateral Mark to STARBOARD. Then pass between the Green and the Red Lateral Marks to reach the Lighthouse and the Marina entrance.

Approaching from the South You will cross the Limassol Commercial Port entrance and shipping channel. Before doing so, contact VTS (Limassol Vessel Traffic Services) on VHF Channel 09 (VHF call: “VTS”) to obtain permission to cross. After crossing, leave the Safe Water Mark to STARBOARD and the Red Lateral Mark to PORT on your way to the Marina entrance.

VHF Arrival Sequence

Follow this sequence carefully on approach:

At 4NM from Limassol Marina — Contact Limassol Marina on VHF Channel 12 to begin the arrival procedure.

At 3NM from Limassol Marina — Contact Limassol Port VTS on VHF Channel 09 to request clearance to cross the shipping lane and port entrance. Engine oils, fuels and contaminated bilge water must not be discharged into the sea.

Pumping stations for sewage holding tanks, engine oil and bilge water are located at several points within the Marina.
